Lip Blush Tattoo in NYC

Lip blush — also called lip blushing or a lip tattoo — is a semi-permanent lip color shaded by machine that adds a juicy, lively “lip injection” look to the lips.

Lip Blush Tattoo by New Face by Christine

About the treatment

It can address irregular lip lines, thinness or lack of shape, pale or colorless lips — and even dark lips correction for blue, purple or dark brown undertones (see Dark Lips Neutralization).

Choose a soft, natural blush or the more saturated Velvet Lips style for a noticeable, longer lasting “permanent lipstick” effect. Results typically last 3+ years.

Please keep in mind

All cosmetic tattoo procedures usually require a touchup, and I cannot control how much pigment your skin chooses to absorb. I do my absolute best to reach your desired end color, but the exact color cannot be guaranteed as it varies a little with your own skin. I also cannot go beyond 2mm outside of your lip line, or results are not clean.

Questions

Lip Blush Tattoo: your questions.

How much does lip blush cost in NYC?

Lip blush or Velvet Lips is $1,200 with one touchup included if it is scheduled within 1 year. Bottom lips only is $900. A deposit holds your appointment and is applied to your total.

How long does lip blush last?

Lip work typically lasts 3+ years, depending on your skin, sun exposure and lifestyle. I recommend a touchup when you start noticing fading.

How long does lip blush take to heal?

Lips usually take about 5–7 days to scab and finish peeling. Expect swelling and redness for the first 2–3 days. The color softens around 30% as it heals, and a touchup perfects it.

Does lip blush hurt?

Everyone responds to pain differently. Clients usually rate it around 3–5 out of 10. I apply topical numbing before, and more numbing on open skin throughout, to keep you comfortable.

Is lip blush the same as lip filler?

No. Lip blush is a tattoo of color, not an injection. It redefines the shape and adds a tint so lips look fuller and more defined, with no filler.

I have dark lips. Can I get lip blush?

Yes, but dark, blue or purple lips need a different technique first. Pink pigments can heal dark on darker lips, so I start with dark lip neutralization.

Booking policies

Before you book.

Clear policies keep the schedule fair for everyone — please read them before requesting your appointment.

Deposits

A non-refundable deposit reserves your appointment and is applied to your service price. It stays valid for one year. The only exception: if your doctor advises against the procedure, your deposit is refunded.

Changes, cancellations & no-shows

Reschedule or cancel online, with your “Manage my appointment” link, at least 24 hours before your appointment — up to two changes per deposit. Less than 24 hours before, it can’t be changed and a new date needs a new deposit. Not showing up, arriving more than 20 minutes late, or arriving with an active cold sore, flare-up or broken skin forfeits the deposit. You’ll get a confirmation and a reminder before your visit.

Payment & tax

Pay your deposit online by card or Apple Pay. Your card is saved securely by Stripe and the balance (plus any tip you choose) is charged to it at the end of your appointment — or pay with a QR code, including Klarna or Affirm to pay over time. New York State sales tax on permanent makeup (4.5%) is added to all prices.

The studio

By appointment only — no walk-ins. For safety and concentration, no guests or children are allowed in the treatment room.

Eligibility

Not possible while pregnant or breastfeeding, or within 6 months of taking Accutane. Some conditions — such as cancer, a serious illness, a clotting disorder, or thyroid, diabetes or blood-pressure conditions — need a letter from your doctor. Cold sores, blood thinners and skin conditions need some preparation, and the area must be clear on the day. The booking form walks you through it.
